Here are 6 reasons why your children should take swim lessons:

#1 Fun

Is your child “Water Safe”?

When parents come to swimming lessons. they have a variety of goals in mind. Some want to reap the benefits of infant swim as early as possible and others want their child to learn the proper swim technique. But they all have one thing in common, each parent wants their child to be safe in and around water. The most popular question we get is “when will my child be water safe?”

Our answer is not simple.

We believe that nobody is ever “water safe”... not even Michael Phelps is drown proof. Accidents happen and unfortunately drowning is still the leading cause of accidental death in children under the age of 5 in the US.

Drowning is 100% preventable as long as you take the layers of protection against drowning. One of those layers is swimming lessons.

In a recent study the National Institute on Health found that formal swimming lessons reduce the risk of drowning up to 88%.

Swim lessons don’t make your child 100% safer but 88%, which is pretty close right? Swimming lessons…

5 reasons to choose a reusable swim diaper

1. Its eco-friendly.

Reusable swim diapers are much better than a plastic disposable swim diaper, especially considering how many you go through during a day at the beach with a toddler who wants to be in the water one minute and out the next and then back in and out and in and out again! Reusables can handle the back and forth while disposables need more frequent changing. Which bring us to reason number two..

2. Its economical.

Swim Diapers are expensive and public pools require them, so theres no getting around this investment. You get the most bang for your buck choosing the option that can be worn over and over, passed on to siblings and even shard with friends in the end.

3. Its safer for your baby’s skin

Many disposable swim diapers quickly stretch out of shape in the water and can end up rubbing and chafing your baby’s skin. They can also contain questionable chemicals that can further irritate your little mermaid or merman. Reusable swim diapers fit comfortably (even after repeated washings) and are made with the aforementioned safer…

Swim lessons for children at an early age have been proven to help them learn and preform better in school. According to Australia’s Griffith University for Education Research, which found that preschoolers who participate in swim lessons attain more developmental milestones than children who don’t.

A four year study (2009-2013) followed the progress of children 3-5 years old for two years, testing and interviewing the children to report cognitive development and performance in preschool and school between swimmers and non-swimmers. In this international swimming research project, the fine report collected date from 45 swim schools in Australia, New Zealand and the United States. What they found was astounding.
