2017 Thanksgiving Closure

Reminder: Swimming Safari will be closed Wed. 11/22 through Sunday 11/27=6.

Please note this closure has been prorated out of your tuition total for November so you DO NOT need to schedule a make up lesson. If you feel as tho you may have been charged for these classes please let our office staff know.

We hope everyone has a safe and wonderful Thanksgiving with their family!

We look forward to seeing everyone again starting on the 27th.

Our Instructors

​Safari Guides

We understand our swim lessons are only as good as our instructors. Which is why we take special care to ensure that all of our staff is enthusiastic, energetic, and experienced working with children. We place a lot of emphasis on training and developing our staff into highly qualified swim instruction professionals.

Our instructors are required to:

  • Train for a minimum of 35 hours with a Swimming Safari Master Instructor. Our Instructors also must pass comprehensive instructor exams in and out of the water.
  • Maintain current C.P.R & First Aid certification for infants, children, and adults through the The American Red Cross.

  • Joani

    Hi, My name is Joani Maskell, but everyone calls me “Ms. Joani.” I am so excited to be part of a terrific team to help keep Jacksonville safe by teaching all to learn to swim. Our instructors are all dedicated and also very thrilled to be able to help the children in our communities learn to swim. Every time I get in the water with a child or adult, I am very honored that they have put their faith in me to be able to help them on the journey of learning to swim. For me, it’s always a wonderful and challenging experience, and I look forward to every single day!

    Hi! My name is Casey Del Prete, and I have had the joy of working at Swimming Safari since April of 2011 when I started as an instructor. Since starting at Swimming Safari I have received my Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of North Florida. Go Ospreys! I do the majority of my work at Swimming Safari in the office and behind the scenes. Occasionally I get the opportunity to sneak away to the pool to teach some lessons. I truly enjoy passing on my love for the water to students of all ages. I hope to have the opportunity to help your swimmer become Safe, Confident, and Comfortable in the water.

    My name is Sara and have been living in Jacksonville for twelve years. I’ve been swimming for as long as I can remember and have been on swim teams my whole life. I’ve had years of experience working in Daycares and helping children swim. It’s very enjoyable to see our youth constantly learning. I work at the Front Desk and in the water, chances are I will see or talk to all of you. This is my favorite part of swimming safari, being so hands on in every aspect of making your lessons enjoyable!

    Hi! My name is Caitlin. I have been born and raised in Jacksonville, FL. I enjoy baking, exercising, and scuba diving. I learned to swim at a very young age and spent the majority of all of my summers in the water. I was on a swim team from my 7th to 12th grade years of school. I find being in the water and teaching students to swim very rewarding and I cannot wait to help each student reach their goals in the water!

    Hey there! My name is Keilyn. I learned to swim when I was still in diapers, and been drawn to the water ever since. I was on my high school varsity swim team and will continue to compete throughout my college career at the University of North Florida. Not only do I have a love for swimming, but also for teaching, whether it is adults or children of all ages. Swimming Safari has given me the opportunity to do the all the things I am passionate about. I am eager to share my experience and will strive to help every student become a safe and confident swimmer!”

    My name is Cassidy. I have been living in Jacksonville for the past 5 years, originally from New Hampshire. I graduated from Jacksonville University with a BS in Exercise Science. I love swimming and can’t wait to help teach your child to become a safer and stronger swimmer.

    My name is Kris. The kids call me Ms. Kris, and I’ve been swimming for over 40 years. I began teaching swimming in the 80’s with the American Red Cross, years later with the YMCA. Now, I am delighted to be a part of the Swimming Safari team. I look forward to working with your little Swimmer!

    ​Hi my name is Brittany. I’m currently a student at UNF studying International Studies and I plan to minor in Russian! My passion is working with people from all over the globe! My Favorite princess is Ariel and I’ve been swimming since before I could walk! I love having fun in the water so lets have a blast in lessons!

    ​Hi, my name is Tyler! I attend FSCJ and I’m working towards my A.A. I’ve been swimming since 3rd grade. I’ve been a member of various swim team since 2011. I often volunteer with 2nd grade students at Abess Park Elementary. My goal is to teach young swimmers safety in the water.

    My name is Chris. I have lived in Jacksonville my entire life. I play baseball, and have been playing since I was 5 years old. I’ve practically grown up in the water, whether it be in the pool or the beach.

    Hi my name is Brian! I attend FSCJ and major in Business Administration. I have lived in Atlantic Beach my entire life and have spent as much time as possible in the ocean and pools. My goal is to teach your children how to be safe swimmers and also make them the best swimmers possible.

    Hi, I’m Stephen! I’m currently attending FCTC’s EMT program. I have been teaching swimming for over three and a half years. I love to show kids what they can achieve in the pool and give them confidence to keep on swimming.

    Hi! My name is Robyn Baumann and I am originally from Long Island, New York. I took swimming lessons from as far back as I can remember until we moved to Florida when I was eight. In high school I competed on a Varsity swimming team that allowed me to make friends that I will have for the rest of my life! Now in Jacksonville attending the University of North Florida, I am fortunate enough to have come full circle from being a swim student to being a part of Swimming Safari that teaches the lifelong skill of swimming that everyone deserves to have!

    I’m Chris! I was born in Chicago and was raised right here in Jacksonville. I’m currently attending Jacksonville University studying to become an Orthopedic Physician. I’ve been swimming since way back when my father put me in lessons when I was two. Ever since then, I’ve loved the water! I’m so excited to teach the kiddos and help build comfort and love for the water.

    Hello! My Name is Christopher, I’m 19 and I have been raised in Florida most of my life. I have been a part of Flagler Beach Ocean Rescue for 2 years and help with the Junior Guard program, which helps kids learn the abilities to become a lifeguard. I’m currently perusing a Bachelor’s in Criminology at UNF. I as a result of my life guarding background I have become very passionate about teaching water safety and swimming to kids.

My daughter absolutely loves this place. They are very professional and are excellent at what they do. I recommend them to anyone looking for a place to teach their kids how to swim!
